The retailer showcases more than 100 quality products across beauty, fashion and home in curated guide - all available on TheBay.com today.
(TORONTO)April 19, 2022— With Eid al-Fitr just around the corner, The Bay is excited to unveil an inspired gift guide to help take the guesswork out of preparing for this special occasion. Curated in collaboration with three Canadian influencers: Hawa Baledio (@hawabaledio), AnamLone (@myinspiredhome) and Saira Arshad (@shazaira), the guide delivers gift-givers (and receivers!), entertainers and celebrants alike with inspiration across beauty, fashion and home. New to this years’ guide is gold-foil embossed gift cards, the latest addition to The Bay’s more sustainable gift card series, in addition to e-cards available on TheBay.com.
Eid al-Fitr means ‘Festival of Breaking the Fast’, marking it as a celebration of the end of Ramadan, the 9th month in the Islamic calendar, also known as the month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community for Muslims around the world. It is a joyous occasion shared with family and friends, Muslim and non-Muslim, and a time to count blessings while giving charity to those in need.
“I am so excited to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with The Bay again this year and share these hand-selected gift options,” says Saira Arshad. “Canada is such a multicultural nation and each item on this gift guide has been chosen from The Bay to celebrate spiritual growth and blessings received throughout the holy month of Ramadan.”
“After moving to Canada, I dearly missed that Eid ambiance. It became clear that it's more important than ever to keep little traditions alive and maintain the special feelings of the holiday,” shares Anam Lone. “Now when I see retailers like The Bay recognizing Eid and helping Canadian Muslims celebrate the day, it truly makes me happy!”
“So many of our customers, associates and communities observe Eid al-Fitr, and The Bay wants to support and celebrate these occasions that bring us all closer together,” says Laura Janney, Chief Merchant at The Bay. “This quality guide delivers a seamless shopping experience that will spark discovery and delight for all sharing in Eid traditions so that Canadians can spend more time focusing on what matters most - love, joy and celebration.”
“Eid al-Fitr celebrates the end of the holy month of Ramadan, but in my culture, in Senegal, it also characterizes an emphasis on forgiveness and reconciliation,” Hawa Baledio recalls, “My most precious memories of Eid as a child are seeing my dad gathering my brothers and cousins to go deliver the food he so intentionally selected, to those less fortunate. I hope other companies follow The Bay’s trajectory to raise awareness and share this festival with all 1.8 billion Muslims around the world.”
The curated array of gifts for Eid is available now on TheBay.com. For even more Eid inspiration, visit Instagram and follow Hawa, Saira and Anam as they highlight some of their favourite Eid traditions, looks and decorating tips - all using products from The Bay.
